The vision: on first name terms with the TV viewer
On founding teveo interactive GmbH in 2010, the telecommunication managers, Andreas Karanas and Matthias Wagner, set themselves the goal of enabling the dialogue with individual TV viewers via the mass medium TV. At a time when the market for interactive TV was just starting to take off, they already developed initial business models and solutions on how the reach of broadcasted TV could be successfully combined with the interactivity of the Internet. Already in its foundation year, teveo joined the European HbbTV initiative, an alliance between leading companies of the European television industry.
Very quickly, teveo became the most innovative expert for interactive TV – always searching for the best solution to bring the providers and the viewers together. Ultimately the company developed TV-ID, a unique service that enables for the first time ever advertisers, broadcasters and e-commerce retailers to address the TV viewers in real-time in a TV-compliant way and thus opens up a totally new marketing and sales channel with a strong lead generation potential.
With TV-ID, teveo takes on a key role in a rapidly growing market
A number of TV-ID campaigns have been successfully conducted in Germany so far. However, the potential for identifying and addressing individual TV viewers reaches far beyond the country’s borders, giving teveo a decisive edge on the market even at international level. As the business model is today already easily scalable on an international basis, TV-ID could emerge as the worldwide de facto standard for the identification of TV viewers. Moreover, TV-ID is basically free of charge for the viewer. Advertisers, broadcasters and e-commerce retailers pay per transaction.

Andreas Karanas
CEO and founder
After graduating in business administration from the University of Hamburg and occupying several positions in Germany and abroad, Andreas Karanas joined Bertelsmann in 1995, where he was employed in various sales and management positions in the company’s Multimedia business area.
Matthias Wagner
CEO and founder
The graduate telecommunications engineer began his professional career in 1997 as Assistant Manager in the Technology and Interactive Services Department of the Hamburg-based pay-TV channel Premiere (today Sky Deutschland), where he was involved in the development and introduction of a wide range of video and communications services.
Kai Prohaska

While taking his degree as a commercial law specialist, majoring in Marketing and Communications at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, which he commenced in the year 2000, Kai Prohaska worked in the editing and production departments of various TV channels.
